Combining 2x single link dvi to 1x dual link dvi?

Thread Starter
I've been thinking about buying MSI's 7970 lightning edition graphics card lately, but I have also been looking to buy one of the korean 1440p monitors. The 7970 lightning doesn't support dual link dvi, which is needed to power the 1440p resolution. However, the 7970 lightning does have two single link dvi connectors. I was wondering if such a product exists that allows you to combine the signal from the two single link dvi connectors to a dual link dvi connector. I need this product otherwise I would have to buy an active minidp to dvi adapter, which costs much more than I'm willing to spend. Thanks for helping!

More than likely no.. Just like you can't split dual-link into two single link connections.

Two single link DVI signals can't be combined to form a single dual link DVI signal.

nope thats not going to work. Your best bet is an active display port to dual link dvi adapter. I have one running on my 30" without any issues
