Looking to Raid 512GB SSD's.

Hey guys. So I built my computer a while ago now, back when the 2500k's were out. Anyways i'm kicking around the idea to get and additional Crucial m4 512GB SSD (they are much cheaper now). My mobo is an ASRock p67 extreme Gen 3 that, according to the specs, supports RAID 0. My question is, will I be alright with a software raid? Thanks.

Why software RAID and not use your onboard RAID capabilities?

Oh, my bad. I thought an on-board raid was a software raid. I guess what i'm asking is, do on-board raids work just fine?

Technically, it is software RAID. However, software RAID is usually used to refer to OS-level software RAID.

I have two Crucial M4 128GB SSD's in Raid 0 on close to the same motherboard as you. I also have my Storage HD's in Raid 0. I would suggest backing the drives up though. I found out the hard way to backup your stuff when one of my drives in my Media array dropped out and found the steps to possibly fix it too late. I now have a 1TB drive to backup my OS drives and a 2TB to backup the important stuff from my storage drives.
