Anyone have a GTX 780 with a Sabertooth P67?

Hey everyone,

Recently my future brother in laws GTX 570 crapped out on him, so I told him that I will go ahead and order a new video card, and give him my GTX 670.

Well I went ahead and ordered a GTX 780 last night but now I am reading a lot of people having issues with motherboard compatibility. Mostly with the Asus brands, I've seen a lot of posts about the Z77 board but nothing regarding the P67 board.

I am hoping this works with no problem, but I'm beginning to doubt it. I did read some people running modded 314.22 drivers. Also read about the firmware update EVGA put out there. So I have been doing my research was just wondering if someone out there has this motherboard and videocard setup and is running fine.

There are no compatability issues that I'm aware of. You'll simply be running the video card at PCI-E 2 bandwidth instead of PCI-E 3 since Sandy Bridge doesn't support PCI-E 3. I had big headaches with my 780 and some driver versions, but I have had 0 issues with 320.49 WHQL. I've ran it in both PCI-E 3 mode with my 4770k and Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H and PCI-E 2 with 2500k and Asus P8Z68-V Pro. So basically just stick with the latest WHQL and you're fine.

Much appreciated! I'm running the 320.49s right now.... Is it recommended to uninstall and run Driver sweeper even when upgrading from nvidia to nvidia?

Since you're going from Nvidia to Nvidia I really don't think you should have to. I went from 580 to 780 without doing driversweeper. I just uninstalled PhysX and the display driver, swapped cards and reinstalled and it was fine.
