120Hz monitor switched to 60Hz problems

Thread Starter
I have an 120Hz monitor and i want to play skyrim. But the game doesn't like more than 60fps, and i need to switch back to 60Hz.

I switched back from 120Hz to 60Hz. And now i feel into skyrim and gaming too, that i have a massive input lag on mouse, on desktop and in skyrim too. I connected a only-60Hz monitor and it plays smooth, but this one doesn't.

It plays smooth on everything more than 60Hz. And on 60Hz is much slower compared with other 60Hz normal monitors.

Why >?

Doesnt have nothing to do. Already done that.

So basically 120hz monitors when switched to 60hz they run much slower than normal 60hz monitors...?!
I have in desktop an games input lag, lag, everything in slow motion. When i switch to 120Hz everything in games and desktop is super smooth, instant. The problem is what skyrim engine doesn't work with more than 60fps, it causes physics problems.

If i switch to a HDMI cable could help in smoothness on 60Hz ? Or a VGA cable ?

Generally speaking, yes. I've had a few 120hz displays and noticed them being much worse in both ghosting and input lag at 60hz compared to a 60hz only display. This has also been noted by a number of review sites.

I assume you've got the XL2411t. Have you tried enabling instant mode? With it disabled the input lag will be quite high.

Tried and nothing. So i assume these 120hz monitors don't work proper at 60hz, that sounds so funny....

did you try to turn on the frame limiter in the overclocking software to limit it to 60fps while leaving the monitor at 120hz.

vsync enabled in game by default. Tried to fps cap to 60, the input lag is not there but the image is blurry and ghosting, due to low fps. This monitor likes only high fps rates very close to his 120Hz.
