NAS: Expandable?

Hello,

I am planning on getting the QNAP TS-420 but for the time being I will only have 2 disks in. Can you later expand the array to 4 disks without rebuilding?

Hey Aastech, just did a quick search on that guy, it looks like QNAPs implementation of RAID supports hot expands, please see here:

Awesome, thanks for the link!

Followup question: If I start out with a 2 disk array RAID 5, then by the info of that link, I can add an additional 2 disks and it will include them in the array?

Raid 5 needs a minimum of 3 disk - 2 disk gives you the option of either Raid 0 or Raid 1.
