i5 3470 temps -- 1 core much cooler

Thread Starter
3 of 4 cores have close temps but the first core is much cooler. Should I reapply TIM?

All cores at 3.8 .968 vcore

min Max under prime95
21c 47c
28c 54c
29c 52c
29c 52c

Normal?

Nope, that's probably normal behaviour. The first core is next to the integrated graphics and that part is probably off for you. The fourth core is next to the part that runs communication to the outside, like memory etc. That part is not off like the graphics part. The second and third core are embedded in the middle and get heat from each other and the first and the fourth core.

Normal. Welcome to long, narrow dies (dice?) with TIM instead of solder.
