set your windows power option to max performance and what is your idle vcore?

I'd say your BIOS is outdated. Try flashing to a new (more recent) BIOS off ASUS's website http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1

Your offset on that BIOS is probably really whack. My friend has a Z68-V LE motherboard and his offset is also really weird, only a 0.050+ offset and his voltage jumps to 1.36v.

I would say to lay off the offset multipliers and start from really low and keep troubleshooting from there, if you dont want to do a BIOS flash and stick with this whack offset BIOS you have. If you do want to flash the BIOS, then i think offset should be fixed in a more recent version.

What could be happening during your BSOD's is that your offset (is set at a reasonable offset for OC) but your BIOS is sort of weird and it may actually set it MUCH higher, which is causing the BSOD. The super high voltages (watch out, you may fry your CPU if its high enough), can damage or kill if you keep trying at super high voltages.

I would suggest to keep it as stock as possible for now and then take it slow and easy towards overclocking so you dont damage your CPU.

Also, check this out http://www.overclock.net/t/1100100/info-intel-2500k-2600k-overclocking-tips/0_20

It's probably the power saving options of the cpu that you can disable in the bios.

Are the temperatures within reasonable ranges?

At first I thought your VRMs might be over-heating, but that is unlikely because you have a good mobo.

How hot is your CPU during the game? Is the voltage the only thing that is different?

the changing core speed is normal specially if the C-states in your bios are enabled. I think its the C1E is doing that? i could be wrong though. using fixed voltage (rather than offset) gives you a constant processor speed whether your computer is on idle or if you are gaming. using offset voltage saves power since it doesnt use 100% multiplier if youre idle.

if your current config gives you a BSOD, like the one you have with -0.150v, you could try increasing the turbo voltage +0.005v (or the lowest value possible) at a time in your bios, while retaining your vcore as it is, then save and reboot the computer and run a cpu-stressing software like prime95 or IBT

and changing the offset to -0.050v gives you 1.32v is kinda normal i think
