Clean install of Windows 7 HP via bootable USB not working???

My friends sister asked me to clean up and "speed" up her Aspire One. Thought it'd be a quick and easy job. Childs play.

Well I put the .iso on a USB stick and put the BIOS to boot to that drive. That works fine, and when I am in the set up, I formatted the recovery drive and main HDD. When I proceed to install the OS on the HDD, I get the error: Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log for more information.

Please help!!!!!

Update: I used my main rig to install Windows 7 on to the HDD. And that seemed to work. Now I when it boots up, I get a BOOTMGR is missing error.... I am so screwed.

I am sure you're right. It was worth a shot and I have been going at it for hours, so I didn't know what else to do... But now I back to where I am started, because I formatted and diskpart'ed it. And it still gives me "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log for more information."

Did you use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to put the ISO on the flash drive?

After deleting the partitions and combining the resulting unpartitioned space, you created a new one to install Win 7 on that partition right?

Are you using the correct ISO? I know when creating a 64-bit ISO on a 32-bit system (or vice versa) can lead to BOOTMGR and other errors

My friends sister finally decided to tell me she has an external DVD drive "if I needed to use it".... Well that solved everything. Thanks everybody!
