You can Also max it out with a 680, 7970ghz, 770 And SLI 660 Ti.

How Many times do you plan on playing through the game? Is not that long and after 1 play through it got very boring for me.

woah.. so a gtx 780 can't max it but a 770 can? ERROR IN THE MATRIX DETECTED !

He asked if 780 would max it out. I said Yes.

Don't count on future proofing. Who knows what new technology might be around the corner, suddenly making everything obsolete.

If you wanna upgrade just to be able to say you maxxed the game out. But you don't really play Crysis 3. I think you know the answer as to what to get....

Many cards can play the game smoothly at really high settings. Not all games are as demanding as Crysis 3.

My suggestion is find out what game you play most and try to upgrade based on that, otherwise grab a pair of 780s or Titans and call it a day.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/06/17/asus_geforce_gtx_770_directcu_ii_video_card_review/6#.Uge416z3x8E

the question is what AA level do you want to run. In Crysis 3 MSAA 8x will kill any card even at 1080p. MSAA 4x will run but not smooth enough. something like 2TX SMAA can be run by a single HD 7950 at 1100+ Mhz. you can see HD 7970 ghz doing close to 50 fps at 1080p Very high settings 2TX SMAA.. HD 7950(1125 mhz) matches HD 7970 Ghz(1050 mhz).

also buy a card when performance is not enough. if your current card runs fine thats enough. when you run short of GPU power upgrade.

Don't obsess with particular games unless you need to play them.

It's easy to make a game demanding:

1. Be a bad programmer: Include bugs, useless routines and other stupidity so the system struggles

2. Pump uneccessary settings for the sake of it. e.g. seeing further than anyone ever needs, using a resolution of images that the engine itself can't show

In general, it's much easier to be bad and make a game demanding than be good and make it less demanding for more imagery.
