Would 2GB GDDR5 be enough for 2 1080P screens?

I'm planning on ordering an MSI GTX 770 Lightning this Friday and want the card for the next 2-3 years. I am planning on buying an Oculus Rift when it comes out and want to make sure that this card won't have any problems with the planned two 1080P displays that the Oculus Rift will supposedly use. So, would an MSI GTX 770 Lightning with 2GB GDDR5 be enough?

Well in 2 -3 years it might be a problem. For now 2gb is more than enough. Your GTX 770 gpu power won't push 2gb of vram in most things today.

But if your not changing your screen then this won't be a problem ? I am asking because i have 2 screen at 1080P too.. is the 3GB version an option too ?

I'm not planning on changing my screen, just want a card that won't have any problems with the Oculus Rift. Only a 2GB version of the Lightning.

Unless you like forcing extreme amounts of MSAA/SSAA you're not going to hit a VRAM choke at 1080p anytime soon. And in all honesty, chances are you'd run into ROP limitations long before VRAM becomes a problem.

2-3 years from now, who knows? GTX 480s from 2010 still seem to be handling 1080p pretty well.

Oculus Rift halfs one 1080p vertically. Means 1920x1080 -> 960x1080 per eye. I don't see any benefit from having graphics to do 2 displays that still show as good as 1 display with oculus, just reduces fps.

A 2GB 770 should be more than enough then.
