Confused between Intel & AMD... Help needed...

Thread Starter
I wish to upgrade my current i3 2100 3.1GHz cpu & Intel dh61ww mobo... I chose b/w the MSI Z87-G43 mobo & i5 4670k cpu which support LGA 1150. I also consider Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 mobo & AMD FX 8350 cpu. I'm totally confused b/w these combos. I'm a gamer & Please help me out & refer me the best for Gaming.

If I were you, I would take the Intel combo because its generally better for gaming as far as i know. The AMD one may be better for rendering though because it has 8 threads.

The best combo for gaming would be i5-4670K + Z87-G43.

Intel's i5 chips generally outperform AMD's FX-8xxx chips by a fair margin in games, especially ones that don't use more then four threads effectively.

But is Intel future perfect ?? As future games may use more than 4 cores, so will AMD be a better future perfect option ??

No, Intel is still the better choice. Note that when Intel wins performance comparisons for most games, it wins big. However in the few games it loses in terms of performance, the margin is usually by a rather small amount.

As such Intel will give you on average a superior performance, and even when it loses you're not missing out on much.
