Building a new server for home use. Need cpu suggestions

Years ago I decided to build a file server where I could back up everything from all my network connected devices. The basic specs are:

  • AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor
  • Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
  • Windows Home Server

Since then, it has turned into more than just a file server. It runs a Plex media server, PS3 Media server, Ventrilo server, and a few other things. its starting to show its age and now that WHS is obselete, I am going to build a new server running windows 8 since that has Storage Spaces, or whatever.

So my question is, what cpu should I go with? I want something energy efficient and cool since it will be on 24/7. i'll likely pair it with an 80plus gold/platinum psu, 8 gigs or ram, and some new hdd (maybe the new WD Reds).

You could get one of those i3-3220T editions and you'd be good. I'm using one right now to host my plex server as well!
