I'm a recent owner of this mb and i have just got it running with a quadcore kentsfield but i have a core 2 duo with an h50 and was wondering if it was worth it to put the water cooler on it or just leave it air cooled

If you have a good air cooler installed - keep it. The H50 is bottom of the line water cooling AIO and won't provide a significant upgrade over a decent conventional heatsink and fan. If you're building a new system and have a H50 laying around, then by all means use it.

p.s. you did a great job of providing us with as little information as humanly possible. LOL. Since it's your first post to OCN I'll leave you with this bit of advice -- provide as much info as you have available to get the best diagnosis and advice in return. =)

Sorry about the lack of details as I'm new here..ok I have a NZXT h2 case with an old p5g mx-133 mb running a core2duo 4gig ram with a 9800gtx+ gpu ...xp pro this is the case with the h50 in it the one I am thinking about putting it in is a Coolermaster storm scout p5qpro turbo running a quad core q6600 with4gigof ram and a 650ti gpu running win7 ultimate this is the one I was thinking of putting it in vs the stock cooler..my concern is airflow vs keeping that quadcore cool not to mention those heat pipes right next to the cpu this is going to be my main unit as I'll probably retire the core2duo

H50 is worse than most decent air coolers... I wouldn't even really consider it a water cooling solution.
