Yeah, I just call it eyefinity because it's easier than typing out 'triple monitor setup' or something...

I can't afford a triple monitor setup with hardware that can push that amount of frames, so in this kind of situation I feel like it's better to have a single monitor that you can drive at 120FPS @ 120Hz always, and have more money to throw at GPUs, rather than struggling to maintain an eyefinity setup that requires serious hardware on a limited budget - since you have to consider the extra cost of the monitors, the GPUs, and the larger PSU.

Thanks Remmib and crew, you have been really helpful.

I have a few follow-up questions.

1: Is that setup 120 Hz stable?

2: What kind of GPU setup are we talking? Note, I am mostly Nvidia friendly so if you go AMD on me speak with Nvidia translation.

3: How can I stream something like that? The capture on that would be bonkers on the CPU, I'd imagine... even if I downscale.

4: With bezels removed there are still noticeable black bars around the picture. Despite that being highly attractive, it could be more attractive without any black bars whatsoever... is that possible, and if so, how?

5: Are most games going to support that format?

Thanks for all the help so far biggrin.gif

1. Not every Qnix/X-Star hits 120Hz, quite a lot of them do though, all of them hit 96Hz at least, and I'd say like 98% hit 110Hz I think. But yeah, it is stable...
2. I'm thinking you'd need at least 3 GTX770's for this kind of set up...1 per monitor...but I can't be 100% sure since I have never done this myself.
3. Typically when people stream they change their game to the resolution they stream at (typically 720p or 1080p). I don't think there is anyone out there that attempts to stream a res that is higher than 4k heh...
4. The bezels are removed, what you are seeing are the metal bezels of the LCD panel - which have been painted black, with the Qnix from edge of the bezel to where the pixels start showing up it's about 11/16" - so that's the width you'll see between screens, quite small really.
5. I think most games these days do support multiple screen setups...

So if people change their resolution to stream, how will a game look like at 1080p or 720p from that 1440p resolution?

Forgive me, but I am not in the mood to do the math or research on aspect ratios which is why I'm asking instead!

If you run your game at 1080p and then stream it from your 1440p monitor, it will still look like normal 1080p for everyone else...

Naw, I'm asking if the aspect ratio is the same on the 1440p and 1080p.

Cus 4:3 to 16:9 looks ugly on my 1600x1200 monitor going to 1920x1080 frown.gif
