They lost me after Resident Evil 5. that was too much of a console port for me. I hate action button sequences for scripted events in a game. Also having to hit a button too climb a latter is a fail. Having to leave the action to equip a weapon from inventory = Fail.

So I just try and tell people to look at them as individual games rather than judging them as what RE started as.

I used to be a huge RE fan as well. Back in the days of 1, 2, 3, and 4, and some of the little games in between those. But individual game or not, there is no excuse for the voice acting being poop. Bad voice acting can kill a game. And don't even get me started on RE6. Xplay's review hit the nail on the head. I don't think they ever knew exactly what they wanted that game to be.

The games after res 4, and the movies need to die a fiery death. I don't know what's worse tbh, those games or the movies.

RE needs to get back to survival horror and forget all this action shooty rubbish. I'm also a big, big fan of the series and have been since RE 2, but I didn't even bother to buy the new one.
The franchise has lost it's soul and it's identity and it needs to find that again.

I've thought for awhile now that it's time for them to redo the series from the beginning, and not a total reboot where they toss everything out and start over but simply a retelling of each game/story with new game engines.
