If you had to get an aftermarket GPU cooler, how much are you willing to spend?

Um, it's not true about what you say with "everything is better than the stock stuff"

Why would they use something? They'll probably end up using AS5 and some n00b comes saying "oh yea i got this über silicone thermal compound and it's better than stock"

Not to be offensive, but that's not always right to think.

Though, if you don't have any case fans, you shouldn't worry.
The other advice to give, is to crack up your case instead.
That's what my friend did with a mATX case running with über (Not really) components.

Zalman VF900 - $40 Shipped If you want, you could buy a cheap fan, $3, and zip tie it to the back of your GPU. This way it intakes air to the back of your GPU's Processor. Also, this allows more air to flow into that area, around your GPU.

i got the xfx version of the 7600gt . about 3 weeks ago i installed the zalman vf 900 and some as5 .my temps went down 8 degrees .
my card idles at 38-40 ,loads at 46-48 .
seldom this card runs over 50 .
should there be that much of a temp difference between the xfx and evga?
im no expert , but seems kind of warm to me . if you overclock the card , wont it get hotter?
grab that vf900 and some as5 . that should cool her down some .
good luck .
cheers .

77C is pretty good. just don't worry about it. GPU can handle so much more than other components. mine idles at about 40C and goes up to 80C so just don't worry about it.

ive notice that your sig is saying you have SOME POOP CASE . maybe the case is the problem ? take the side off , see how the temps are then .
it might not be that card thats causeing the heat buildup .
just a suggestion .
good luck .
cheers .

alot of the people here said not to worry about it .
i am sure they are more experienced than me .
so , go with those guys .
maybe in the future you may get a half decent aftermarket cooler . that would help .
good luck there .
cheers .
