Not with the cpu. It is stable at 45. I could use 46 but not more without a delid.
With gpui dont know if it is such a lottery. Water cooling makes the difference.

Ok i fixed my skyrim issues.
For some reason my brand new game saves were the issue. I downloaded clean early saves off the net and everything works perfectly. Full step guide with all hd settings, realvision enb on max and a few other things. Doesnt dip below 60fps. Even on the stairs in whiterun. Love it.

Quick summary of my testing here for anyone who searches "modded skyrim GTX780"...

At stock levels and ~200 mods, this card sits at around 40-50 FPS.

Overclocked, it sits above 60 FPS. I vsync to 60 anyway so that's good enough.

You don't need a massive GPU overclock to achieve this either. Anything above ~1100 MHz is more than enough. I've tested the GTX 780 overclocked progressively all the way upto 1370 with some of the voltage hacks available on this forum and it really makes no difference to Skyrim performance or even in BF3 MP64. I suppose if you are aiming for 120 MHz gaming than a 1350+ MHz over clock would start to make sense.
