Why do mouse mats go bad so fast for me?

This is my 5th mouse mat that I bought. I went the extra mile and bought a 40 dollar gaming mouse mat to see the difference. Nope. 2 weeks in and the side that i use most is already getting rough. What is the problem that is causing my mouse mat to go rough so fast? I don't think this is normal..?

Sounds like it's a problem with your mouse, and not the pads. Are the Teflon pads on the bottom of the mouse in good condition? If the bottom of your mouse isn't smooth, or if you wear a watch, any of those will tear up a cloth mouse pad in short order. Even a dangling pinky finger with a long fingernail can scratch up a cloth pad.

At times my desk gets a little bit messy because of eraser marks. I haven't really thought about the bottom of the mouse. Maybe?

I grabbed a steelseries mouse pad for like 15 dollars? I have a high dollar mouse but the mousepad still looks brand new after a year. I think I could use this giant thing as a Frisbee and it would still work fine.

Also, move your mouse side to side and see how much noise it makes, and what kind. Mine is literally silent and there is no rubbing of any kind.

It's quiet loud. I'm not sure if that's my own perception though. I'm leaning towards a problem with the bottom of the mouse plus my sweaty palms.

It seems like the sticker on the bottom of the mouse got totally flatten. Would that be a problem?
