SONOS or something else?

Hello all,

I'm a complete newb w/r/t home audio so I would to hear some opinions from the experts:

I want something that's simple (i.e. one box + the Bridge to router connection) with which I can stream Pandora or my iTunes library (iTunes would be from my W7 desktop), get good sound quality, and control with my iPhone from the couch. SONOS seems to fit the bill, but is it overkill for what I want? Any other better alternatives you can recommend? Again I'm looking for a very simple setup in terms of wiring because I live in a Manhattan studio that's already over-cramped. Also, is the higher-end Play 5 overkill for a ~20x10 space?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Before you had a choice between Squeezebox (budget-friendly) and Sonos, but since Logitech dropped the line completely Sonos is your only real option. There are other similar devices out there, but none are as well established or polished.

You can choose their own speaker/amp devices like the Play 5, but can also just use your own amp and speakers instead.

Cool, and TY.

Just wondering now if I should get the Play 3 or the Play 5. Will the 5 have better sound quality or is it meant for a bigger space?

I don't have either, so I can't help you about sound quality. I can say that having more speakers in the same place won't really increase the overall volume much because sound pressure is logarithmic.
