Little help needed with setting up a VPN.

Thread Starter
So we have a small server here at work and my boss has asked me to set it up so he will be able to access the server while he is away. First off we have a Cisco RVS4000 router.I have created a login name and password under the vpn tab. Im pretty sure on the server end everything is setup good. I know this because we had a tech guy come in a while ago and he set it up for one lady we have here on her desktop at home and it works fine for her. I just cant figure it out to save my life. I have downloaded QuickVPN and put the certs on my computer at home but I cant ever get past the connecting screen! Its really starting to get aggravating. This is my first time trying to setup something like this. Any ideas or step by steps?

if the serveres a linux box you could use openVPN, tis easy,

if your stuck at the connecting screen things to check would be firewall rules (are they stopping you going out / in), are IP forwardings going to the right place, and are you going to the right IP. Also to note dont try to connect to te vpn from within the network you are vpning to
