SSD won't boot into Windows 8 using AHCI with overclock!

So I got a SSD today and I changed the settings in bios to AHCI then i installed windows 8 no problem with stock clocks. After I get windows 8 updated I go into my bios and put back my overclock settings that I been using since i bought this 920 setup my overclock posted successful but in AHCI it won't boot it into windows just hangs there but if I change it back to IDE with overclock settings everything is fine. Does anyone know how to correct this? Should I clear the CMOS? Update the mobo bios?

I updated the bios and switched to a IDE drive that has my previous windows 7 installed on it and still the same thing it just hangs on the post screen. I tried to change the first boot to cdrom but it won't boot into it now either.

Yea, try a clear cmos, then reset your settings manually again. If that doesn't work try a firmware update on the mobo. If that doesn't work then you may have to try re-overclocking your system from scratch.

(Solved) I reformatted the SSD threw Windows7 this time before installing Windows 8 I made sure the drive was set as AHCI in the bios, then after installing Windows 8 I applied my overclocking settings that I orginally had and I cleared the cmos before all of this. Now it boots into windows just fine, my mistake I made was forgetting to change it from IDE to AHCI, too bad it took me all day to figure out something so simple, geez I feel like a idiot! lol redface.gif Thanks for your help anyway though..biggrin.gif
