I have the 9500, and from what I can see, the 9700 just has a diff mounting, the fans look to be the same. I suspect any hi cfm 120 mm fan could be modded to work just fine.

I thought the zalman 9700 used a 110mm fan...

and im pretty sure it does... I ordered one! cant wait to get it on christmas morning hahah!

Yes it does, and the one I am currently using is stock. However, OCing puts a strain on the heatsinks ability to remove heat, thus more airflow is needed to carry away the heat. Zalmans like a lot of air. You may not need to do anything to the fan, it may work fine for you in stock form. Just be sure you have good air flow thru your case.
