AquaComputer Kryographics Titan waterblock Question

Thread Starter
Hopefully Shoggy can verify this for me.

I have a EVGA 780 SC and the Kryographics titan block copper version, will it be ok using the original thermal pads on the ram chips or is a TIIM required?

Reason I ask is if the thermal pads on the ram chips will keep the block from fully seating on the gpu die from flexing the pcb slightly?

Thanks in advance and if anyone has experience with this at all please chime in.

I am pretty sure you can. You can use a titan water block on a 780

the block is cut so too use TIM for the ram chips to get better heat transfer the stock pads would be to thick maybe some .5 mm pads but i dont think so looking at mine

Titan block fits 780 yes, I know that, question is , will using thermal pads on the ram chips instead of a paste type tim , will that cause the gpu to not fully compress the tim on gpu die due to flexing the pcb?
You have to use thermal paste on the RAM because otherwise the block will have no more proper contact to the GPU.

Thank you Shoggy, that is what I suspected.

What temps do you guys get with these blocks on the TITAN? I am thinking to get this block with the back plate.
