Bad Cinebench 11.5 Scores

Thread Starter
Ok was just looking for a little input on why I'm getting bad scores with the same overclock? Sorry if this is in the wrong place. New here. Got an FX 8150 and at 4.4GHz I only get 6.75 as a score. Is it my board or what? At 4.7GHz I only get 7.0. ??? Confused.

First, Cinebench does not favour AMD. It favours Intel due to compliers. Hence, you might not see that % increase in the score as a % increase in speed. That being said, you may try to bench with application that you use in real world or are close to replicate those apps.

Think that score looks about right for the FX 8150.

Ah ok. Was just wondering because I seen some Phenom Benchmarks and the were 7 points at 4.2GHz. I kno bulldozer isn't as powerful. And I shouldn't worry really. Just thought it was an anomaly.

The phenom II x6, called Thubans fetched higher scores than the FX 6 core chips. But the FX 6 core chips were as good and even sometimes better than them in gaming. Just because a certain benchmark doesn't favour your chip's architecture doesn't make your chip bad.

check your temps when you run the bench again. it should be a tad higher on both oc's. keep your chip below 60C at load. might be throttling.

Coretemp never went above 50C Cool n Quiet, C6, and turbo boost are all disabled. windows power management is set to high performance. In hwmonitor I have two Cpu temps. Which is confusing. Core temp, amd overdrive and one temp on hwmonitor all are the same. The Motherboard CPU temp on HWmonitor is 10 degrees higher. Which to go by?

i am referring to the cpu (socket) temp. keep under 60 or ideally - 55C.

don't go by the motherboard cpu temp if you are talking about inside BIOS. go by the apps. HWmonitor is good bounce the readings with others like HwInfo64 and Speedfan.
