Look people, this has been going on for many many decades. Before the internet the NSA had (and still does) taps in the phone switching rooms. I have been called a conspiracy theorist for several decades, because I am not shy about telling people about all the technology that the NSA uses to spy on it's own people. I get to laugh in peoples face now because of what Snowden has leaked. If you didn't think that ANY government was recording this type of information, you have your head in the sand. Same thing if you think that the US is the only one doing it too. ALL governments do this and to be honest the US is not the worst (all eyes on Israel).
All you have to do is look at the history of the internet to know this would not turn out good for the private citizen.
How do you fight back? Cancel your cell phone contract, disconnect your internet and write real letters to your elected officials. That won't happen because most people don't care
. enough to actually take action.
The actual truth is the people who actually care about this are a vast minority of people.
How many people are cancelling their internet? Making extra security efforts? Doing anything
How many people will do something active like write letters of protest? The ratio against people who will do nothing (whining on the internet is the same as doing nothing imo) is probably quite astounding.
However, I think its because while other people
are making it out to be a huge thing and people might read a news story designed to shock and awe them and get upset.......they probably wake up the next day and realise......well they don't actually care at all....
Sure its in the headlines, almost constantly.
Sure its going
to be made into a political point scoring issue by influential people/parties.
But who really
cares? I personally don't know a single person who does except my hardcore Christian sister who has always felt this way vs tech/government/fluoride/MSG etc anyway.
As soon as the media decides on something else for everyone to be worried about, it will be naught but a memory...........I'm sure more people have talked about Prince William's/Kate's royal newborn than anything
to do with this business.Edited by GrizzleBoy - 8/1/13 at 1:43pm
