Okay mate, I understand your logic now.

I would definitely get the Gigabyte 7970, especially if you can negotiate to the 200 quid mark.

For high end dual-gpu rigs (assuming you crossfire later), everyone will suggest an Intel rig and for good reason. That said, an 8-core Piledriver will probably give you enough horsepower to enjoy CF7970's at 3x1080p, and will certainly powe

If you're hunting for 2nd hand bargains, then that's a pretty good place to start IMO. And no need to apologize for budget building good sir. None at all smile.gif
I will keep that in mind, thank you

We need to know more specifics about the brand and model to know if any PSU is good enough, but I can *almost* guarantee you that no 650watt PSU is capable of running an overclocked FX-83X0 with crossfire 7970's, especially if they're overclocked too.

Exactly which PSU do you have? I guess you won't know until you get back, right? Feel free to PM me then or just create a new thread with more information, but you should be able to run a single 7970 and high end FX cpu, both overclocked, on a decent 650watt, so for now and till xmas you'll hopefully be fine.

Are any of these processors a good deal, and will any of them run two 7970 at 100%? I really dont wanna go by the 200 pound mark

Probably best to know what motherboard you're using, cause then you could potentially just upgrade the CPU, if you need to at all.

But, This CPU:

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/intel-core-i7-3820-s-2011-sandy-bridge-e-quad-core-36ghz-no-hsinkfan/1025234073

with either of these, preferably the first but don't forget you may possibly need new memory too:

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/asrock-extreme9-intel-x79-socket-2011/1024825295

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/msi-x79ma-gd45-micro-atx-motherboard-x79-socket-2011/1025234771

Will be a massive upgrade from almost any AMD system once overclocked, seems great value (assuming perfect working order and that they've never been seriously overclocked) for the price, and would handle two or even three 7970's.

Negotiate a package, add a 7970 ... BAM!
