You're correct. The physics is still all there, just not visually. I'd assume in the case of damaged thrusters the physics would be fully visualized to highlight it.

For now I don't see any ship I think I would like, maybe the constellation, but its very expensive.
Will some ships have any form of hyperdrive/warpdrive system? or just jump gates?
I always liked the idea of Battleship Galactica tactics, where you take advantage of the technology you have and if your in danger, just escape by jumping away.

. Remember that there are 3 non-human spacefaring species, and we've only seen one ship from them total in the Vanduul Scythe. We've been told of a Xi'an Oracle class cruiser, but in name only and without detail. We know nothing about any Banu ships.
