Hello,

Directions say to hook the fan up to the CPU fan slot, and the pump to any 3 pin available connector.... can i hook this pump up to the CPU_OPT slot right next to my CPU fan slot? would this work?

Yes, any fan header on your motherboard will power the pump. The only thing to be aware of is if your motherboard offers some kind of fan control over the headers, it may slow down the pump thinking there is a fan plugged in instead. I would only do this if you're using Corsair's Link software to control the pump speed, otherwise make sure that the header is giving 100% power all the time.

Ok sounds great , can't i set it up that way thru bios or something? i just got back from afghanistan and the system used a "used h60" which fried or died or something so while i was gone the gf RMA'd the device and got a brand new one so im hoping i can power the system on soon and have it actually run

There may be BIOS options, but more than likely it will be handled through software. My ASRock board gives me BIOS and software control over 4 of the 5 fan headers. The 5th one is 100% all the time. How it is all set up depends on the motherboard though.
