Take a look at this page from our Team Competition: http://tc.folding.net/index.php?p=category

Hacksword is folding a 780 and blazed_1 is folding a 7970

The gap really isn't too significant through the 8th of this month, but the price difference makes the 7970 x2 a much better decision for the money in my opinion.

This 100%

I am getting 110-125k ppd on the 7970 @ 1200

I recently picked up 2 more used for $290 each...easy to find, they are all over e-bay and Amazon...so for your $600 you could get 200-250k ppd depending on clocks.

edit: yes, I know, more power consumed....but in my case these will be replacing GTX 480s, so I won't notice biggrin.gif

Or 3x 7950s for that matter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127737

$180 ea, AR.  That is good PPD for the $$$.

Wow, I remember scratching like 15k on an overclocked 460 a while back...

Have the points gone up?
