When I asked them why they changed to a SATA power connector instead of Molex, the person I was speaking with didn't actually know.
So a quick google, I found this: http://www.techpowerup.com/188153/swiftech-launches-a-sata-powered-8-way-pwm-splitter.html
They mention that Swiftech states the new connector "eliminates many of the problems encountered with the typical Molex connectors found on such devices". Hmm? What problems? Only problem I had with Molex before was manhandling the physical connector when it got stubborn. And to be fair nothing I plug into Molex is the hot swappable variety anyways so I don't remove and reconnect molex connectors that often in a build.
Anyone else ever have trouble with their splitters using molex?
