Proxy that can access secure sites?

Hello,

At the moment, I am doing a workshop with my workplace in which we have been sent to a small country town in order to boost productivity... somehow. Anyway, the point is that in this area, the wifi that we are provided with is filtered. Usually this would be alright except as many of new would know, the new Humble Bundle has just materialised and I have no way to purchase it. There are no access points within walking distance here and I am not allowed to leave the area for another 6 weeks.

So, now to the question. I have coded a standard proxy for myself in the past, but this does not work with any kind of authentication measures. Does anyone know how I could go about creating a proxy (PHP preferably) that works with secure sites and cookes etc.

The only reason I need to create one is because all the standard proxy sites are blocked.

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend Tor for professional stuff as it can cause as many issues as it solves.

Can you not just VPN into your office and route traffic that way? It would be the quickest, easiest and cleanest workaround. Plus since you're routing traffic via your office, it's keeping things nice and professional.
