WIndows 7 SP1 reverts at boot up.

Back Story:
I've Had Windows 7 Home premium Installed on my SSD for about a year now and been very careful with it. A few months ago I tried Launching Sandboxie and it failed (some error about not being able to start). Re-installed but it did not fix it. Then I realized that sometimes when i shut down my computer, it would stay on update 1 of 1 for a REALLY long time, and in some instances when i get to my desk in the morning it is still doing so.. in which case i'm forced to just force shut it. and for the last week or so When it restarts it would welcome me on the "preparing service pack screen; and at 10% reverts and restart. Now I'm just really annoyed with this being the case every single time i power on my desktop.

Failed Fixes:

So far i've tried:
-Windows update trouble shooter/ Microsoft Fix it. (stays on forever doesn't seem to find anything
-Downloading and installing the service pack by itself.
-closing down all non essential programs
-multiple Virus sweeps on different programs
-System checker (which checks out fine) "SFC /scannow"
-system Readiness tool fixes

I Do NOT wish to reinstall windows (wipe down drive)

I read somewhere about using the in place upgrade feature from the installation disk. Willing to do it if it wont wipe my drive clean. meaning i keep all the info/ programs on it.

Anyone has any other ideas?

TL;DR
Windows 7 Sp1 reverts to install.
suspected something is up since failure of Sandboxie
tried everything mentioned in "failed fixes"
help me not wipe avoid wiping drive clean

(I am Dyslexic I did a few runs of proof reading I hope i got it all)

if you have your oem recovery disks it is possible ther are built in utillities for such a problem that reinstall the boot partition and core os of windows around your documents and programs or allow you to easily recover them after and only takes a few hours

other than that you could live boot with linux and an external hdd/ssd to recover and/or repair data
dont recommend you try to repair boot sector but you might be able to do it

tips when going through updates espesily on a laptop or pc far from router plug in through ethernet

You don't have to reformat the drive to re-install windows. All your programs won't be "installed", but all the folders and files will be in the same place. Some programs will run straight out of the old folder, some you will have to reinstall.
