Anyone Pre-Order 7 Days to Die?

I just saw this game on FrankieonPCin1080P's youtube channel. Looks pretty fun. It is in pre-alpha stage but they are going to release it to those that did the first pre-order a long time ago by the 16th of this month and then for those that pledged on Kickstarter or via paypal by the end of the month or first part of September. Looks like it is a pumped up version of Minecraft but with different physics and higer def graphics. Here is Frankies video of it. I already paid for the package that gets you the pre-alpha key.

My first time hearing about this title, but looks like a fun way to waste a few hours, and from what I read on the website is seemingly a pretty in depth experience. Are the only ways to get a copy are to fund the Kickstarter or pre-order?

The game is starting to get a lot of attention and hit and passed its Kickstarter goal so they are announced they will be getting the alpha to as many people as possible by the 16th. Rhinocrunch and FrankieonPC on youtube have done vids on it and Rhinocrunch is doing a 7 part series on it right now and taking you through the game and discovering the features in it as he is each day. The Devs are planning on dynamic weather and procedural worlds if they can hit their stretch goals along with better voice actors for the characters and zombies. Plus a ton of other weapons and crafting possibilities. It looks like a lot of fun and I hope I get my copy by the 16th. The devs are trying to make the game so that true survival is the goal and not just a byproduct if you want to do it that way like other zombie games where you can easily avoid having to worry about surviving the zombies. Dayz is too easy to avoid being killed by the feckless zombies and you worry more about other players. 7DTD is trying to be different whereby the focus is on building better bases making it harder for the zombies to break in and get you at night when they are stronger. The last time I played Dayz you could still hide in a tree and they cant get you or they become useless indoors. I know the standalone is addressing that though. The entire world in 7DTD is destructible and they way you build your base is important since you cant place object suspended in mid air like minecraft. Structural integrity matters.

SO far on their forum the community seems pretty cool, but I am sure once it gets going the trolls will come out of the woodwork. Hopefully the devs will figure out a way to reduce their impact on your survival or make it not very fun to try to just kill other players. No clue how that would be done though. It seems like a game that if you have a few people playing you can get more out of it by helping one another. That said it would be fun to have one camp pitted against another setting traps of different types involving the zombies.

Sounds excellent if the Devs manage to attain their stretch goals. This game would seem great as a multiplayer team based game that requires effective communication and cooperation between players to achieve success either by reducing the head count on the other team or by surviving the night. I will definitely be checking this out in the near future. Hope it all goes well.

You should check out the videos if you have not already as even in its pre alpha state it has a lot going on. They will end up putting all the things I mentioned before over time if they don't hit their stretch goals. I wanted to be in the pre-alpha stage and help contribute to the development of the game as much as I can. I like the crafting system and the fact that you can make so many interesting things like mines for the zombies to step on and spike in pits for them to fall into. I guess usable vehicles will be added from what I heard if they are not already. Plus improved physics. I am sure it will be a texture modders field day with it as well just like minecraft.

Backed this game at the $35 price point for alpha access. Loved all of the gameplay videos I've seen so far and definitely can't wait to get my hands on a copy and dig in...literally.

I know man. It just hit its first stretch goal for the expanded world and extra weapons plus more enemies and items. They also have made a lot in regular paypal sales so they will be able to add a lot of other things as well I read. This will be a true survival game and not one that you can just put a bunch of sand blocks around you and keep everything out like in minecraft.

The game will only get better and better the more people back it until it has an official release.
