Which Is The Correct 3930k Vcore Voltage - Core Temp Or CPU-Z

Hi,

I have my 3930k at 4.5 GHZ with 1.30 Vcore voltage in the BIOS. In CPU-Z with Prime 95 running it says my Vcore is around 1.290, in Core Temp it says VID is 1.345. My CPU LLC is On High and my CPU Current Capability is at 130% so I'm thinking the 1.345 would be the correct running CPU Vcore voltage, right?

Personally i rely on my Bios readings then CPU-Z. The drop in voltage whilst under load in CPU-Z is known as Vdroop, and yours is pretty much ideal unless your raise LLC higher. Although a setting to HIGH is enough for most overclocking....

You are looking at two different things. Core Temp reports the VID, which is what the chip thinks it needs to run; while CPU-Z reads the core voltage, which is what the motherboard is actually providing to the chip. You need to worry about the core voltage (Vcore), not the VID. So go with what CPU-Z reads, not CoreTemp.
