Bad memory controller?

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm not sure if this is because of my motherboard or its just a bad memory controller on my 4400+ but when I try to use 1T timing with 2x512mb one of my cores will fail on Prime95 every time no matter what I do. Is this common when overclocking....all my voltages are a good levels to support the overclock i'm doing so I don't get it.

Does anyone know what this is all about?

How much is the RAM overclocked by, and what are the stock timings?

Hi Cor33, I just want to make sure you have the most recent bios for that board. While it is a great board (i used to own it), without a necessary bios update running ram at 1T can be a real pain! Head over to evga and make sure you are running the most current bios, and if not, go ahead and flash it. Also note that the ram was notoriously picky with ram, some ram would ran at 1T, some other ram wouldn't!

My opty always fails on core 0 when I push the OC too far. Never core 1. I am interested to see if others see this also.

Yes, that always happens, but next time start a new thread, don't hijack one.

Thanks Guys...

dotcomthese- **Edit: I just ran the test with ram included (on orthos) and it failed right away! 5s! does this mean I just can't use 1T

amped- The ram is overclocked by 20mhz 200-220, and the timing is the stock timing 2-3-2-6.

tubnotub1- Thanks, I have the newest bios, I check all the time.

DruidsLaughter- Mine always fails on core 1 when I overclock, and that core always runs hotter also...

Those timings might be a touch too tight for those Kingstons, I dont know.
At 220fsb, try backing off the timings to about 2.5-3-3-7 and see what happens.
The timings your running right now might be fine at 200fsb.
