best motherboard to get is ?

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I'm in need of a new motherboard after a disastrous attempt to remove the retention bracket back plate, and was wondering whats better,
( I'm coming from a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum ) I want to move to a Opteron 165/170, Dual Graphics (ATI or NV, I don't care ) and water cooling, most of the threads say to go DFI, I was wondering which motherboards ( any brand ) are the best to get, for under 150$ USD, for this particular setup.

This would be the best board you can get for a 939 board under $150

I second that, if you want to go without SLI they even have a cheaper version for under $100 I believe. (You can actually mod it to a SLI board if you would need to)

Or the Expert, unless your RAM is TCCD/TCC5.

Expert is the board that I picked up (newegg had a deal for $110 a while ago) I am very happy with this board. So many overclocking options. I actually upgraded from a NEO-4 F ,too. I recommend any DFI boards.

If you wont go SLI, the DFI NF4 Ultra D is what you want (about $100. now).
With SLI, go with the above link (almost exact same mobo as the Ultra D but the 2nd PCI-E slot works without a mod).

DFI's are great but they are finicky wanting a OCZ power supply and some higher end memory (GSkill perfect).

You've gotta X800GTO - why not go for the RDX200CF-DR, and then add another X800GTO with the money you've got left?

They don't "want" an OCZ power supply. Just a decent one with a nice amount of amps, and a minimum of 480 watts.
