Im planning to go for 2-3x titans since 780 today doesnt come as 6gb models (atleast not in my online store)
Ok, cause i want to be prepared for the upcoming games that also comes for the next gen consoles. Cause those games probably uses more cpu power than the highend games we have today on 3 screens
No i have not, cause i have failed 3 times at my overclocking attempt for 4.6ghz cause of wrong voltage.
And since im impatient in such to test this kind of stuff that requires hours, i then just want to get a better cpu instead.
And for the mobo, i then wanted to either get Asus rampage IV maximus or extreme.
So many problems here. I'll try my best to tackle each of them.
I might need some verification on this, but if your CPU is running at 10% idle, there might be something wrong there.
Three 780s will give you just about the same performance as two Titans, and isn't far behind three Titans. Also, three 780s will give you 9GB of memory, which is PLENTY.
Games are not going to scale up the power that quickly, and most of the scaling will be related to the GPU. If you're really worried about console's effects on PC gaming, buy AMD cards, lol.
And that's just straight up lazy to abandon your OC and go for a different CPU, especially when you could probably get more gain from an OC than a new CPU. A mild overclock will take less time and effort than you're putting into this upgrade crap.
