OK I tried the PSU test and the power supply is working. PSU Fan started spinning. So what's next?

Triple check all the power connections to the board and try again. It could be a bad motherboard but I would make sure the CPU and RAM are installed properly and try again before I go through the process of replacing the mobo.

Sorry to hear that. But now, at least you know. There's nothing like not knowing why nothing is working.

When I built my current rig, I threw it all togather, plugged it up, and told my wife to hit the power button the first time for luck. Nothing happened. I told her to try again, she did, the fans spun for a second or two and died. I panicked, and had a terrible feeling in my gut. Not to mention I had my wife glarring at me, and saying "I told you to buy one that was built. No you are SOL." I was worred that I had done something, because everything had fired up the day before on my work bench missing only the GPU.

I got lucky though. I unplugged everything from the PSU and replugged it, and it fired right up like a champ.

Oh yeah! Turns out everything is working 100%. The problem was that the mobo was screwed to the backplate of the chassis directly without a pad between the mobo and the backplate. It's pretty weird that they didn't give a pad for the screws already in the motherboard packaging. Had to use one that came with the heatsink but it works nicely now. I wanted this PC to be silent and it IS very silent smile.gif

Now I only have to wait 20 days before the PC gets shipped to Ireland from here so I can install Windows. USB installation never worked for me and I don't have a DVD drive here (in Slovakia) only in Ireland.

Thanks for all the tips guys! smile.gif This is a great community.

Wow great to hear it's working. I know it's a best practice to use the pads on the mobo standoffs, but I didn't realize it could cause all this. The upside to everything is that you are going to enjoy the PC even more and you didn't have to RMA any parts!

EDIT: I see what you mean now. The mobo was flush to the case without any standoffs. Glad nothing blew up on ya thumb.gif
