I watched the video up until the point where they were in the dungeon. The game reminded a lot of Morrowind (graphically, movements, etc) and not much like Skyrim which is far superior graphically and character animation wise. I almost want to cut Bethesda some slack because this is their first MMO but I really can't because they have a long history of developing large scale RPGs that are amazing.

A trend that I am starting to see in a lot of MMO games is this push towards developing HUGE worlds. This is a double edged sword in my opinion because with this focus on a huge environment you lose a lot of potential to provide deep content in each area. I think Bethesda could have shrank their world size and focused down on areas to provide deep, rich content that is refined and enjoyable rather than spreading everything out. As I mentioned, this seems to be a trend in MMOs to focus on the macro and not the micro but again, I figured Bethesda would of done a little better job due to their resume.

At least I have GW2 to play and if I get bored of that I can look into FFXIV: RR. The beta for that has been pretty enjoyable.

Problem is, if we had gotten anything LESS than the continent of Tamriel, the community wouldn't have supported this MMO.

Time and time again in games your bow/alternative weapons come out of your rectum. Why can't they show all your equipment on your back? WHY DO THEY NEVER DO THAT. I don't want to be running round pulling items from thin air. also, the animation shows that it just appears... I'm fed up of this, at least we can mod it into Skyrim. I might write into Zenimax, see if they will let me make a change.org about it or something, I know literally none of you care about it, but how awesome would it be? Hey there's that guy, he's got a bow and a two-hander, you know how I know that? IT IS ON HIS BACK.

They don't allow non-employee input for their game, I already asked about it.

Wow did have this until they came out with transmogging gear, but I feel ya. The thin-air inventory is annoying and looks/feels cheap imo.

Then again most of ESO looks/feels cheap, even Skyrim looked ugly on relerase by today's standards, but at least we could mod other stuff into it and beauty it up a bit (enb +1). Did the same thing in Oblivion...
Most of what made the elder scrolls series popular was its modability and customization... both of which are seemingly lacking in eso just so it can be put online.

imo thats not a worthy trade-off, but we'll see

I love TES. But I am unsure about a TES MMO. Really all the things that made TES great can't really be done in an MMO setting. Mainly mods. A TES MMO will ahve to be dumbed down to work, and Skyrim was already greatly dumbed down compared to Morrowind. I will still probably check it out when it releases but I am not holding my breath on it being anything other than another generic, run of the mill MMO that is jsut trying to capitalize on the TES name.

Also, I am pretty sure Bethesda isn't the one making ESO. Not sure why everyone keeps saying Bethesda.

Meh... people see TES, they automatically associate with Bethesda. I know I personally do. That said, maybe since it is NOT Bethesda, the quality actually has a chance to surprise us? tongue.gif

Given Skyrim is one of the most successful if not the most successful RPGs released on PC this decade if not in the history of video gaming, Bethesda could have invested all that development monies into making another true Elder Scrolls sequel or God forbid Fallout 4 and made even more money than their MMO could ever hope to bring in.
