3770K Under Water Temps?

Thread Starter
Im a noob with the whole new i7s and stuff, i was on my sig rig for years when i knew everything about them and then kind of went out of the scene. Anyway made a new rig, 3770k and Asus P8Z77 V Deluxe. At the moment my i7 is at 4.5ghz 1.15vcore , idles at 30 and loads at around 65-70. Ive got the original EK Supreme, D5 vario and Thermochill PA120.3 and san aces at 5v. Do my temps seem normal? are they too high for a custom loop? Bear in mind ambient temps here are around 25°C right now. Also what is considered a high overclock on a 3770k?

Your chip is very good if its stable at 4.5Ghz with 1.15v. And also your temps are great for a non delided chip. Dont worry at all, these chips are really hot thanx to intel and their crappy paste they use. You can either push your cpu further up to 1.3v or up to 90c under linx/prime load, what come first. Or, since you have a nice chip there, you can delid it and push it up to 1.35v to be both safe on vcore, have great temps and im sure you ll get to 4.8 stable. I have delided mine and i fold at 4.6Ghz with 1.3v, max temps 60C with 30C ambient with the same setup as you. Here is the link to get an idea Delidded Club
