Since you altered nothing it wasn't your fault and this is clearly a faulty product which they should replace.

Companies that try to talk their customers into having no rights are doing really bad practices.
Here in Europe it is actually illegal and the warranty on a new product is 1 year from purchase date and service time is up to 2 years as long as the products was meant to last which all companies say their products are so 2 years is the standard.

Negative. Newegg only offers returns for 30 days after sale.

He has to go through Sapphire for an RMA.

Isn't there such a thing as warranty over there?
Even though it is a Sapphire product they are the reseller so they are responsible whether they send it back to sapphire is none of your concern since you should get your replacement right?

Nope. NewEgg only has a 30 day return policy after that you are at the mercy of the company if they choose to honor your warranty or not. It's the same for all stores in the USA, they have "X" amount of days return policy. All warranty after that is covered by the manufacturer, in this case Sapphire. It's a big reason why a lot of us choose "X" brand over "X" brand because of support and warranty services. Some will give you the run around and others will play nice.

Wow that is harsh should be a consumer protection agency for that someone to defend consumer rights.
