How did you get into BOINC? - Page 2

I just went and checked . . . I actually joined WCG on 6-6-06. The date makes me laugh.

I think I actually was running FightAIDS@home before they joined WCG.

I started in Jan 2005 after reading about climateprediction on the BBC.
Began running climate models and continued until recently when i stopped as i never seemed to receive any work.
Over the years i gradually added projects that i found interesting.

I started in 2000 with Seti@Home. Then, I moved to Boinc when it replaced Seti. I've added other projects ever since.

I started with the United Devices Cancer Research Project back in 2000. Left for Parabon Frontier cancer research project when United Devices shutdown its cancer research in 2006. I left Parabon for Boinc back in 2010 when I decided that Parabon was just to commercial a platform and decided to support the Docking project instead.

A couple years later, Magic got me to join overclock.net at which point I continued to run Docking. Many months after joining overclock.net, Magic finally talked me into using my GPU for computing. That is when I really got into crunching with CPUs and GPUs on a variety of projects. As of today, I still have the highest points in Docking on the team. biggrin.gif
