Thanks for posting!
Ya know, I thought about giving a razor blade a try, but the plastic seem pretty thick to me... Oh, well-- all it could hurt is the dead mobo I'm currently practicing on.
Amen to the decayed 6150. GPU-Z looks so sad on it...
The "GDDR2" is right on the sticker of the DIMM. Check that link I posted-- that's it.
An HD 5570 wasn't $20 more, it was infinitely times more.
Although that adapter is quite spiffy, I'm not sure it's right for my case. I really like the way this method will blend seamlessly into the rig, and put an HDMI port on the back. Big plus there, regardless of gaming. @ looniam:
The PSU has a 14a 12v.... I guess I won't be able to do the 550 Ti with the 89W Athlon in there. That also means anything with a 6-pin will automatically be out of the question, so it's gonna come down to what the x1 slot gives (e.g. with a 6670, perhaps). Really could use one of those OEM cards about now... lol@ Vlasov_581:
Lol! Come on, guy-- At least I'm here asking if better
than a 5450 will be possible.
I actually do know fairly well how hardware specs rate, range and compare. I appreciate your concern and understand, cause I actually do know fairly well how hardware specs rate, range and compare. (Good joke, right?
You know this is really just doing something with stuff lying around, right? HDMI output alone is a win.
