High voltage? Phenom 1100T

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I was checking with the AMD Overdrive program the clock speed and mostly the Fan RPMs, when i found that it is clocked at 3.3 Ghz with a 1.35 V and i think i had my i5 2500K OC at 4.5 Ghz with that voltage. Is this correct? Is it safe?

Yes it is at stock voltage.

Isnt it a bit high for a stock voltage?
Yes, it's perfectly fine. You'r comparing apples to oranges with the voltages.

I ran my 1100T at 3.9Ghz 1.44 volts for 2 years and it still runs fine today. On AMD's website, it stated that that CPU can run 1.40v which is a bit conservative for warranty purposes. I'v seen people ruing their 1100T at 1.5v for 24/7 use.

No, its fine. As shaded war said, you cant compare voltages between amd and intel.

The PH II chip runs @ 1.3 to 1.55 Vcore
1.35 is stock for a Thuban. They run fine as high as 1.45 without serious risk of degradation, and will function just fine at higher voltage with good cooling, although they'll degrade over time if run over 1.5. At this point in the game, it's probably not cause for concern, though.

Deneb is another story. It's made on a different mask and is a purpose-designed consumer CPU, and can take 1.55 easily on good cooling without worrying about significant degradation. Thubans are made on the same mask as Istanbul core Opterons, then were clocked higher and put on an AM3 platform.

Im running my 1100T @ 4Ghz with 1.428 on idle and with LLC it bumps up to 1.464-1.476 on full load. I do have am h100i strapped to it though.

You cant compare your 2500K to a 1100T since the 2500K is a 95W cpu (stock voltage) and the 1100T is 125W.

You can also check a topic i made a few days ago regarding the 1100T: http://www.overclock.net/t/1414087/1100t-4-0-oc-research-results-questions
