Calling customer service is almost always a hastle.

At least with HP I've discovered if you call the service center directly. Youll be put to a human in less than 5 mins, often less. All the employees are located in Houston Texas, 8 believe. The process of fixing your problem is also less of a hassle.
I have a two year warranty and calling the service center. No reading if scripts just a quick description of problem and the order is ready.

A big downside is that is not open 25 hours, usually only to 5 or so
