What alternatives are out there? ("Soft" Tubing)

Hey just a simple question, what alternatives are out there to "Soft" Tubing, after some research it turns out the parts of the loop to "Die" the fastest are the tubing. And I would like to keep it as maintains free as possible. so what alternatives does the end user have?
So far I've only seen crystal-link, but that still requires some work. And what about just a bunch of variable SLI fittings?

Acrylic tubing, copper tubing etc. All of which require farm more preparation and planning than soft tubing does. Personally, if I went with anything else it would be acrylic tubing.
