Need some ideas

I have a Lian Li PC-C60 HTPC case thats getting some pretty beefy hardware (in htpc standards tongue.gif). Im looking to optimize the cooling efficiency as much as possible. One Idea I have is to cut down my optical drive tray, as it obstructs half of my intake fan. Would doing this benefit in noise and cooling?

Adding more fans certainly isn't going to help you noise wise, but clearing out space for fans and airflow will definitely improve cooling.

The main thing is that your case and fans are conducive to let air easily flow through it; having a dedicated intake and extake side.

My case has 3 fan locations, two on the right and one on the left (technically 2 on the left, but my psu occupies that). Also has a lid vent for cpu cooler. My plan is to have the right side fans intake, and my left side fan/psu/gpu/cpu exhaust. Will this work ok? I can't really have the psu do much for intake since it just exhausts out the back.

Im wondering if this is too much exhaust. Should my three chassis fans be intake, and have the cpu/gpu/psu as exhaust?

I can't see me using the other slot except for maybe a fan controler. Id just hate to "destroy" my optic tray since I don't think Lian Li offers replacement trays, at least none that I can find.

Pics probably tell it better

This will work best. You PSU will essentially be another exhaust fan and the air will flow from right to left.
