hi all,

just need some advice on the 680 classified as im planning to grab a third card to go NV surround would a thermaltake toughpower 1200W PSU be enough to handle 3 of these cards along with the rest of my specs which are :-

i5-3570K
Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3
2-way Sli GTX 680 CLASSIFIED 4GB
EK Watercooling Loop 240lx
Dominator Platinum 8GB
Thermaltake 1200 ToughPower
Sandisk 64 GB SSD (boot)
WD caviar Black 2TB
Seagate Barracuda 3TB
Corsair Obsidian 800D

any advice would be greatly appreciated
also I DO have my cpu and currently cards OC'd a bit
my cpu is OC'd from 3.4ghz stock to 4.7ghz
and my cards are sitting at about 15-20 OC

thank you in advance smile.gif

1200W is massive overkill. You will be absolutely fine, even with aggressive OCs on the 680s.

Hi thank for quick reply, I know its a massive psu but im worries that cos the 3 cards will be OC'd hard and because they seem to be very power hungry cards being 4gb and also the hard drives and blu ray drive and ram and cpu and all the rest would 1200 still be ok? also i have a bunch of leds and fans and all the bs lol

TT 1200 will be fine. you could've just updated your original thread tongue.gif

Honestly even with all that stuff I'd be surprised if you manage to get much over 900W PSU output. I don't think a 680 can top 250W's even under water.

What kind of voltage through the 680s?

Because the cpu is very efficient, even 1.35v 680s in 3-way should do well on that psu. There was a guy in the Lightning 680 thread who was pushing 1.36v through his two Lightings, with a 3770k I believe, and he was getting shut downs on his OCZ 850w unit.

680 Classified, they can pull more than reference cards depending how hard they get pushed, 1200w should be fine.

well the cpu is sitting at 1.380V and im not sure what the gpus voltage r as i can really tune them without that EVBot plugin hardware but i havnt changed the voltage on the cards, only adjusted the mem clocks and core clocks and power target value to max which i think is 131% for the classys

and soz i didnt realise iv posted this thread here before my bad smile.gif lol

Did you try the new GTX Classified Controller?

Classified.zip 182k .zip file

Works on the 770 classified, I believe up to 1.35v software.
