Help with DVD Drive!!!

So I have a weird problem that I have never experienced until recently... Every time I try to burn a disc it fails and then my drive disappears from the computer completely. What that means is that it is gone from the "Computer" from the Device Manager, and the Disk Manager. The only way to bring back the drives is by rebooting the computer. I have checked the firmware of the DVD drive and it is current, i checked my bios and chipset drivers and everything is current. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Things I have tried:
Firmware upgrades
3 different DVD drives (2 Asus B1ST and 1 unknown model from a factory build computer)
Complete clean of registry of old chipset and such
Microsoft "Fix it"
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drives in device manager

It worked for a while after redoing the chipset drivers and then after about 5-10 successful burns it starts to have problems again.

Programs I have tried:
Nero 12
Freemake
Convertx to DVD
AVS4you
DVDFab
IMGBurn

My system:
Gigabyte GA-UD5-990fx
saphire Radeon HD 7850 GPU
AMD fx-8320 CPU
8gb Corsair Vengence 1600mhz RAM

Google said it's a common problem but i have never seen this issue in 10+ years nor did google have an answer or solution to the problem.

Best regards,
Mike

Have you tried switching where the drive is connected on the mobo, the sate cable, and the power power cable?

I had them plugged into the Marvell Controller with the updated firmware. I did switch them into the other chipset and have not had that problem since but like I said earlier it will burn a few good ones and then it will stop working. But so far so good. I am beginning to think it was a problem within the Marvell Controllers.
