I overclocked my cards +63 on the core clock and ran unigine heaven for 1 hour... no crashes everything fine.. but every night when I play bf3 i get driver crashes

Any idea why this is happening?

im using 326.41 but it was also happening with 320.42 and it plays bf3 fine at stock clocks

Because it's not stable... just because it can pass heaven doens't make it stable. BF3 is pretty great actually though for finding those instabilities.

does that seem low for a graphics card? i'm not too experienced with overclocking gpu's

Hard to say. I have no idea what you're actually running at. The offset doesn't really tell us a whole lot. Use something like EVGA precision, Afterburner, GPU-Z, etc and see what your GPU is actually clocking to.

~1180MHz

1180 isn't bad but not great by any means, I'd say it's below average.

Never heard of this, what is it? Can you link?

I tried just leaving everything default and only going +4 on the core clock and it still crashed bf3...

#10 ·
have you tried any other drivers?

#11 ·
Not with my 760's no, those were the only two.... which do you suggest going back to?

I really don't know, I don't play BF3 much.... I just know people complain a lot about drivers and BF3. haha. Sorry

Yeah I play a bunch of other games too it mainly only happens in BF3 although I think it happened once with Warframe as well.

It just happened during BF3 with the cards at stock clocks... this clearly means it is not the overclock that is causing the crashes.

3dfx was a company that closed in 2002 that revolutionized the GPU, in a month after the closure a GPU would have been ready that was the same as the geforce FX and ATI X19xx series. You probably haven't been in tech long enough to get what I said...

nope, could still use some help tho

Is BF3 stable if you crank the fan speed up to 85%++ ? Could just be that the heat saturation during extended play is getting out of control. What are your GPU core temps like while playing?

FWIW I've had a lot of problems with 320.xx and 326.xx drivers, and found 314.xx to be the most stable release. Not sure if 314.xx will run on a GTX 760, but if so, you might want to give it a try.

I would try installing the drivers on a clean boot and hitting advanced install and then clicking clean install. Only install the driver components you absolutely need (linked to a good install guide for Nvidia drivers) like just the driver and physx. Please temporarily shut off your firewall and antivirus during install as well. It sounds like a long process but it really isn't bad.

So if you didn't do this I would try that. The clean boot should take care of this but always make sure you don't have precision or afterburner processes running during a Nvidia driver install. They can corrupt the installation. Just re-enable them after the installation. Also, as others said I would make sure temps are in check during gameplay.

I don't run SLI but I have heard you actually want the least performing/slowest card in your #1 slot when overclocking. But as you got a crash at only +4 I would suspect a bad driver install.

If you're on Windows 8 one thing I have found is that I have to clean boot and clean install all my drivers (like I described) and software to get it running right ex. my Nvidia drivers and my Logitech drivers etc...

EDIT: The 326.01 drivers seem pretty stable and they do support the GTX 760's. They say for windows 8.1 but people have them working in 7 as well. I used them on vanilla 8. You might want to try those if The clean install with the other drivers doesn't work. Please clean boot and clean install those drivers as well if you test them.

My temps don't ever get that high.. I have my Temp limit set to 80c so if it does get up that high precision x will automatically lower the voltage and bring it back down. I have been using Driver Fusion to delete all my drivers and then reinstall with the "perform a clean install" box checked. I'm also using Windows 7 not windows 8, will 326.01 drivers still work with my OS?
